Behind-the-Scenes at the Philadelphia City Archives

Join the Museum Council as we explore the Philadelphia City Archives! Established in 1952 under the Philadelphia Home Rule Charter, the City Archives contains 20,000 cubic feet of holdings with historical, legal, and cultural value. The Archive focuses on providing research access on various subjects dating back to the late 17th century. Some key collections of interest include genealogical records, property deeds and permits, court documentation, and film and photography collections. The tour will include learning more about what people at City Archives do, exploring some of their non-public spaces, and seeing some collection highlights.

Address: 548 Spring Garden Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123
