Mentorship Program

2024 EMP Mentorship Program

The Museum Council of Greater Philadelphia is proud to continue the Emerging Museum Professionals (EMP) Mentorship Program. Applications are now open.

About the Program

Join us for our third year! This locally-based mentorship program seeks to connect emerging and experienced professionals to foster a more equitable entry to the museum and arts and cultural field by building a network of support and encouraging sustainability in our jobs. Reach out to empchair@philamuseumcouncil.org with any questions about the program.

The program will feature:
- A 6-month mentorship relationship from January 2024-June 2024. Given changing CDC standards, each mentor/mentee pair can decide on virtual or in-person meetings. Pairs will be matched in early January.
- A personalized pairing based on career interests and mentorship goals
- An EMP Committee Coordinator to oversee the mentor/mentee relationship
- Opportunities and recommendations to build your network and workshop-specific, career-related skills
- A sense of support and community with like-minded people in the local museum field

* Admittance to the EMP Mentorship Program is only open to individual and institutional members of the Museum Council of Greater Philadelphia.
* To best fit the needs of each unique pairing, application to the program does not guarantee a placement in a mentor/mentee relationship
